When you decide to have a 3D crystal created, you begin by taking a 3D scan. We convert your 3D scan into a 3D crystal by using a sophisticated software program. You can have a portrait of a single person, two or even three people. We use a special laser that focuses its concentrated beams of light to a precise point below the surface of the crystal. Each bright point in the image is plotted in the final crystal piece. The laser then uses these locations as three-dimensional coordinates. Once the laser is properly positioned, it makes a powerful pulse, which obliterates a tiny spot inside the crystal. The laser then moves to the next coordinate and sends another pulse to make another etched point. This process is repeated until your image is clearly etched deep within the crystal. The surface of the crystal is not compromised in any way, so the crystal maintains its strength and will not be damaged over time.
